“Unexpected” Gala Seeks

The 2009 Gala at the Falls, Willamette Falls Hospital Foundation’s signature event, has chosen a tantalizing theme this year: “Expect the Unexpected.” The eighth annual black-tie-optional benefit will be held on Saturday, October 24, in the hospital’s Community Health Education Center and across the street at the Abernethy Center in Oregon City.

Proceeds from the 2009 Gala at the Falls will be dedicated to start-up costs of establishing a free health clinic. Willamette Falls has a proud heritage of community service, which guided the hospital’s creation in 1954. This new clinic will provide much-needed access to medical treatment for low-income and underinsured members of our community.

Last year’s event brought in a total of $135,000. We are optimistic that our friends and neighbors will rally to help us increase our capacity to serve those in need. Your participation can take many forms:

  • Become a Gala Sponsor at the level of your choice
  • Attend the Gala and bring guests (tickets are $150)
  • Host a table of 8 for $1,500 and receive recognition the night of the event
  • Commit to the Gala’s “Special Appeal” for the free health clinic
  • Make a financial contribution to help procure auction items
  • Contribute an auction item (athletic event tickets, dining experiences, entertainment)
  • Purchase raffle tickets (available August 2009)
  • Encourage staff, family and friends to visit our Online Auction. Bidding will be open September 27 - October 21.

    • Many donors, both local businesses and individuals, have are already stepped forward to support this very special event. A number of items have come in for the Silent, Online and Live Auctions, such as products, services, or vacation lodgings, and more are welcomed.
