GREAT BEGINNINGS YOUR FIRST BABY
First-time parents will learn about pregnancy and childbirth, along with strategies for lifestyle changes, stress, pain management, and postpartum care. Offered in a four-weeknight session or as an intensive weekend course. A Birthplace tour is included. Thursday July 9th, July 16th, July 23rd and July 30th. Tuesday August 11th, August 18th, August 25th and September 1st. Friday and Saturday August 28th and August 29th. GRIEF RELEASE CLASS: ONE TO ANOTHER
Have you lost a loved one? Join this small, confidential support class led by Joanne Petrie, a widow who understands the emotional and physical reactions to grief. Facilitator: Joanne Petrie, Chaplain Bereavement Coordinator.

HEALTHY CHOICES WEIGHT MANAGEMENT PROGRAM
This 10-week course is designed to help you lose weight through focused choices and a non-diet approach to weight control. Groups meet weekly and participants will be asked to put the time and effort into making positive lifestyle changes. A follow-up support group is open to successful program participants. INFANT MASSAGE

INTRODUCTION TO HOSPICE CARE: VOLUNTEER TRAINING
This program teaches the basics of hospice philosophy and principles, and is a prerequisite for new Willamette Falls Hospice volunteers, who support terminally ill patients and their families. Instructors: Willamette Falls Hospice Staff-- Six-week course meets Tuesday and Thursdays. 2:30-5 pm September 29-November 5th. $10.00 fee earns three college credits. JUST FOR SIBLINGS

PARENTING
The Parent and Young Child Program offers day classes, which meet for 8-10 weeks during the Spring/Summer session. Instructors: Lynn Collins, PhD and Crisse Milner. Financial aid (work scholarships) is available for all our classes. Days and times may change due to enrollment needs. Younger siblings are welcome in some of our classes, please inquire. PARENTS AND BABIES
Parents bring their babies and share the challenges and joys of parenting. We provide information on sleep, food and nutrition issues, bottle and breast feeding, and help with the adjustment to parenthood. Offered Wednesday afternoons and one Saturday per term; call 503-723-6555 for dates and times. $35.00 per 8-week session (FREE for Birthplace parents with babies under 16 weeks, when space is available.)
PARENTS AND WOBBLERS
A "wobbler" is a baby who has become actively mobile. Our room is child-friendly, with opportunities for wobblers to explore and interact with other children/families. Parents gain experience in setting positive limits and discussions are based on individual concerns, covering issues such as sleep, feeding and co-parenting. PARENTS AND YOUNG TODDLERS
Children begin to really discover themselves around 16 months, starting to speak and actively exploring their environments. Join other parents and young toddlers in a child-friendly room to discuss temperament, development and behavior, and positive ways to guide your child's social interactions. Early art and sesnory experiences may be included, when appropriate. $75.00 per 8-week session (90 minute classes) Call 503-723-6555.
PARENTS AND TODDLERS TWOS
Children learn age-appropriate social skills among their peers as parents discuss their challenges and guide social interactions. A variety of materials offer children opportunities to explore art and music. Classes meet once a week for 1 and 1/2 hours. (Non-mobile siblings are often welcome with instructor's consent.) PARENTS AND THREES YOUNG FOURS
Children enjoy interactions with same age peers, art sensory table and other developmentally appropriate activities with the assistant instructor. Parents meet part of the time in another room to discuss issues in development and behavior related to children this age. Open to children who are currently three or just turned four. POSITIVE DISCIPLINE SERIES
This two-week series provides an in-depth look at applying the tools of positive discipline in early childhood. Positive discipline builds on the principal that "children do better when they feel better." Through the presentation of information, discussion, in-the-moment opportunities, and written materials, parents learn how to more effectively handle their child's challenging behaviors. Parents attend with their child, between age 16 months and 3 years. Please inquire about attending with a younger sibling. UNDERSTANDING YOUR GRIEF

THE LETTER YOU LEAVE BEHIND

WELCOME TO PARENTHOOD NOW WHAT?
This workshop is for expectant parents and parents of newborns to four-month-olds. We'll explore common myths, experiences, difficulties and joys of parenting young babies. You'll also receive information on topics such as installing car seats, feeding choices, choosing a safe, suitable sleep environment for your baby, why babies cry and how to calm a fussy infant.
